PANalytical Release XRF System Designed Specifically for the Mining and Mineral Industry

PANalytical has extended its range of industry specific, wavelength dispersive, sequential XRF spectrometers with the launch of the new Axios-Minerals system, configured specifically to meet the needs of users in the mining and minerals industries.

Engineered for excellence in analytical and operational performance, Axios-Minerals includes a specific set of 19 synthetic multi-element wide-range oxides (WROXI) standards, together with state–of-the-art SuperQ software.

Like all Axios systems, Axios-Minerals is designed and built for operation in harsh industrial environments. It provides consistent high quality data across the full elemental range, from fluorine to uranium, in concentrations from ppm to 100 wt%. An integrated X-Y sample handler and a choice of loading options ensure rapid sample throughput.

The system has its own dedicated version of PANalytical's SuperQ software, including the WROXI application set-up with a worked example. As a result, measuring programs can be set up quickly without detailed knowledge of the software. The software itself is easy to use with a highly intuitive user interface and menu. Day-to-day operations can be carried out even by inexperienced personnel with minimal instruction.

The WROXI application can determine concentrations of up to 21 common oxides in a wide range of ores and minerals, including limestones, iron/manganese ore, bauxite, clay/shales, rocks, phosphates, feldspar, blast furnace slags, fly-ash, gypsum, rocks and soils.

Axios-Minerals is easily integrated into automated laboratory systems and, with a small footprint, is ideal for medium-to-high throughput applications in both production control and R&D environments.
