Kemira Acquires Pulp and Paper Chemicals Business from Vulcan

Pulp and paper chemicals manufacturer Kemira have just acquired the pulp and paper chemicals business of Vulcan Materials for US$44 million.

The acquisition strengthens Kemira’s North American presence and allows them to better serve the global pulp and paper chemicals market.

Included in the transaction are plants in North America located at: Columbus Georgia; Shreveport Louisiana and; Vancouver, British Columbia. Products such as emulsion polymers, defoamers, wet and dry strength resins and a range of other custom products are manufactured at these locations.

They will also acquire approximately 200 staff in the transaction.
