Akzo Nobel Invest in $30million New US Facilities

Akzo Nobel intend to spend US$30 million on establishing a new research and development facility in the US, as well as a new dispersion plant. Both will be for the benefit of the automotive refinishes business.

They intend to build a research and development center in Pontiac, Michigan, while the new dispersions facility will produce Sikkens Autobase Plus Car Refinishes paint. The dispersions facility will also produce highly concentrated intermediate products used in paints

The aim of establishing these facilities and investing so much money is to increase their car refinishes business in the US. Construction of the new R&D facility will begin later this year.
