Malvern to Exhibit In-Line Particle Sizers at Interphex in April

Malvern Instruments will exhibit from its range of Insitec systems for on- at- and in-line particle size measurement at this year’s Interphex event (24-26 April 2007; New York; USA). The recent addition of the Insitec LPS to the product portfolio emphasises the growing importance of on-line measurement in liquid process streams as well as in dry powders. Alongside the Insitec will be information about the industry-leading Mastersizer 2000 laser diffraction particle size analyzer, considered to be the benchmark in a wide range of pharmaceutical applications. Visitors will also be able to participate in presentations about Malvern’s new SyNIRgi near infrared chemical imaging system and see the latest version of the associated ISys software in action.

Until now, continuous, real-time particle size measurement has been used primarily for dry processes. As well as the established Insitec T on-line particle size analyzer, Malvern’s range for the pharmaceutical industry also includes the mobile Insitec Pharma Voyager for at- or on-line measurement - ideal for pilot plant operation or Process Analytical Technology (PAT) - and the Insitec ALISS for at-line measurement. The introduction last year of the Insitec LPS has provided a new option for continuous measurement that can be fully integrated into liquid process streams. A reliable and robust laser diffraction-based system, the Insitec LPS can be used off-, at-, in- or on-line for a very wide range of processes, from high concentration slurries right through to lipid emulsions.
