BASF Complete Callery Acquisition

BASF have completed their acquisition of certain assets of Callery Chemical Division, part of Mine Safety Appliances for $65 million. The sale was originally announced on July 21, 2003.

Callery Chemical was founded in 1939 and is a leading manufacturer of boron and potassium chemicals used in pharmaceuticals and other applications such as surfactants, adhesives, polymers and electronics.

The acquisition includes a plant and real estate in Evans City, Pennsylvania, USA.

The Callery acquisition allows BASF to increase their range of inorganic products they can offer their clientele, while allowing Mine Safety Appliances to concentrate on their core activities.
