Alcoa Acquire EPC

Alcoa Fujikura Ltd (AFL), part of the Alcoa group has acquired 100% ownership of Engineered Plastic Components (EPC). This acquisition gives Alcoa a greater foot hold in the automotive components industry, while at the same time providing EPC a platform and means to expand in the automotive sector.

EPC is a major supplier of precision moulded plastic components for use in automotive electrical systems. They also supply components for the telecommunications and medical industry.

The acquisition was seen as a good strategic move and was consistent with their desire to provide a broader range of products top their customers.
