AK Steel Launches AK Coatings

AK Steel has launched AK Coatings, a spin off from the parent company and research and development to produce antimicrobial coated steel.

AK Coatings is offering a limited number of agreements to shop coaters, paint manufacturers and coil coaters to market their proprietary AgION antimicrobial coating.

The coatings can be applied to a range of carbon and stainless steels, with the technology having been developed as a result of an increase in the demand for microbe resistant products.
