Titanium Alloys - Ti2.5Cu Properties and Applications

Chemical Formula

Ti2.5Cu

Background

Ti2.5Cu combines the formability and weldability of unalloyed titanium with improved mechanical properties and a useful creep resistance up to 350°C (660°F). It has primarily found applications in the aerospace industry for components such as the keel and fan casing in the Tornado, airframe sheet in the Jaguar and fan casing in the Rolls Royce RB 211-524. It is also used for the firewalls and forgings in Airbus’.
