Introduction

UNS C11100 electrolytic tough pitch copper alloys are anneal resistant. The following datasheet covers the chemical composition, physical and mechanical properties, designations and fabrication and heat treatment of UNS C11100 copper alloys.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment

Annealing

UNS C11100 copper alloys are annealed at temperatures between 482 and 760°C (900 and 1400°F).

Cold Working

UNS C11100 copper alloys have excellent cold working capacity.

Welding

Welding methods not recommended for UNS C11100 copper alloys include oxyacetylene welding, coated metal arc welding, seam welding and spot welding. Butt welding and gas shielded arc welding can be performed on these copper alloys including brazing and soldering processes.

Forging

Temperatures between 760 and 871°C (1400 and 1600°F) are used for forging UNS C11100 copper alloys whose hot forgeability rating is 65%.

Machinability

The machinability rating for C11100 copper alloys is 20%.

Hot Working

C11100 copper alloys have excellent hot forming properties.
