Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Machinability
The machinability rating of the UNS C61800 copper alloy is 40.
Welding
The UNS C61800 copper alloy can be welded using brazing, soldering, butt welding, coated metal arc welding, seam welding, gas shielded arc welding, and spot welding methods. Oxyacetylene welding method is not preferred for this alloy.
Forging
The UNS C61800 copper alloy can be forged at temperatures ranging from 760 to 885°C (1400 to 1625°F). The hot forgeability rating of the UNS C61800 copper alloy is 50.
Hot Working
The UNS C61800 copper alloy has good hot forming capacity.
Cold Working
The UNS C61800 copper alloy has average cold working capacity.
Annealing
The copper alloy UNS C61800 can be annealed at temperatures ranging from 594 to 650°C (1100 to 1200°F).
Applications
The UNS C61800 copper alloy can be primarily used in valve and pump components for industrial process streams, high strength fasteners, marine equipment, and pole line hardware.
