Nano Technology From Research to Development

PowdermatriX, the particulate engineering network which brings science and industry closer together through promoting and supporting research in advanced ceramics, powder metals, hard metals and magnetics, is hosting a special forum to explain how the latest advances in nano technology can benefit product engineers.

Entitled "Nanoparticle Applications: Industry Meets Academia", the event is taking place on 22nd November at the Pride Park Stadium in Derby.

The forum will see researchers from the universities of Manchester, Leeds and Loughborough come together to explain the fundamental issues associated with creating nano-particles, retaining nano-structure or nano-particle behaviour, and how this can result in novel in-service performance.

By hosting such a forum, in collaboration with the University of Leeds and the Royal Society of Chemistry Particle Characterisation Interest Group, it is anticipated that new and inventive ways to enhance product performance in numerous sectors will emerge.

Speakers on the day will include representatives from some of the UK's leading industry names including ICI, Oxonica and Malvern Instruments.

Registration for the event is set at £110, with discounts available for students and members of the PowdermatriX network, PCIG and RSC.
