Reinhold Industries, Inc., an affiliate of The Jordan Company, L.P. has entered into a Letter of Intent for the purchase of Ultracor Inc. a manufacturer of specialty core materials. The parties expect to complete the transaction in the first quarter of 2008.
Based in Livermore, California, Ultracor is a designer and manufacturer of specialty core materials. Ultracor has been on the forefront of honeycomb development for over six years and has an extensive space flight heritage. Ultracor is used in spacecraft Antenna Reflectors, Optical Benches, Solar Arrays, and other lightly loaded structures which must be positioned with accuracy and stability in order to properly perform.
David Ewing, President of Reinhold, said, "The acquisition of Ultracor is an important step in expanding the niche applications for composite materials at Reinhold. The Ultracor product line is primarily used in the manufacture of satellites, a growth market where Reinhold is already well positioned."
