Nanophase and Atlanta Chemie Form Global Partnership

Atlanta Chemie AG have formed an exclusive global partnership with Nanophase Technologies Corp. As part of the arrangement, Atlanta Chemie have invested US$10 million in Nanophase Technologies purchasing a 7% stake.

Related Stories

Together, they intend to co-develop paints, coatings and plastics and expect to introduce their first products to the market during 2004. These products will utilise nanotechnological developments with target areas including:

  • General industrial coatings
  • Architectural coatings
  • Coil coatings
  • Automotive OEM and refinish coatings
  • Printing inks
  • Duroplastics and thermoplastics
  • Consumer goods packaging
  • Electrical insulation applications

The agreement between the two companies will provide Atlanta Chemie exclusive rights to Nanophase’s technology within agreed confines for a period of 8 years.
