"If it's made, it involves heat treating." Universally important to industry, heat treaters are refocusing their efforts to support key economic and technological challenges.
Innovators, influencers and decision makers in the heat treating community from North America and around the world will "Gear Up for the Winds of Change" at the 2009 ASM Heat Treating Society Conference and Exposition, Sept. 14-17 in Indianapolis.
Held concurrently with the American Gear Manufacturers Association’s Gear Expo, the ASM event will focus on improving heat treating quality while increasing efficiency and reducing emissions. “This event is a crucible where critical thinking from industry, government, universities and research institutes can come together to advance heat treating and the entire manufacturing process,” said Scott Mackenzie, Houghton International, Inc. Co-chairing the organizing committee with Mackenzie are Fred Specht, Ajax TOCCO Magnethermic, and Dale Weires, The Boeing Company.
Technical sessions will cover applied energy, atmosphere technology, brazing, emerging heat treating technologies, equipment innovations, global and environmental issues, processes and applications, quenching and cooling, and vacuum technology.
An exhibition of leading suppliers and manufacturers supporting the heat treating community will be featured. For more information, contact Ms. Kelly Thomas at ASM International at 440-338-1733 or [email protected].
ASM Heat Treating Society (HTS), an Affiliate Society of ASM International - the materials information society, is the world’s largest network of heat treaters. HTS provides events and services to serve a worldwide membership of captive and commercial heat treaters, equipment manufacturers, researchers, governments and technicians.
