With four easy steps rust can be removed. The first step will be the degreasing of the rusted surface. The metal surface is first cleaned with a water-based Marine degreaser or cleaner, which will safely eliminate grease, dirt, wax and other contaminants, which will hinder restoration. The second step is to deactivate and defuse the rust, and etch the metal using Prep & Ready. This product is sprayed on the surface for rust removal and better adhesion. This will coat the surface with zinc phosphate for stable and enduring bonding. The third step consists of applying Por-15 rust preventive paint coating to the metal surface. Real protection is obtained with an amazingly hard finish, which will not peel, chip or crack. The last and final step is to top coat the surface by using any of the Por-15 coatings, such as Chassis Coat (black), Blackcote, Sterling Silver. Alternatively, the surface can also be painted with a color self-etching primer, which is suitable for painting on top of cured Por-15.
