Introduction of UBC550L Series by ATC for Optical High-Speed Data Communications

ATC is a pioneer in producing millimeter-wave, microwave, and RF passive components. This product has been designed and produced with featured components for a flexible and reliable ultra-broadband operation.

550L Series UBC™ Ultra-Broadband Capacitor

The 550L is a rugged ceramic capacitor, employed for reception of high-speed data signals and digital transmission. It is a unique component that provides flat frequency response, ultra-low insertion loss, and balances several octaves of the frequency spectrum.

The Director of RF applications engineering at ATC, Richard Fiore says that the market requires more number of high-performance ultra-broadband components and reflects increased demand from its customers, as it progresses to higher data transmission rates .The 550L series ultra-broadband capacitors have been specifically designed to furnish its customers with a high-volume ultra-broadband market, which operates to provide excellent performance at optical high-speed data bandwidths.

The 550L is of high-speed performance with simplified adaptability as it has been designed in a one-piece orientation-insensitive 0402 SMT package. The 550L line of products offer unit-to-unit performance repeatability and excellent return loss, facilitated through a capacitance value of 100nF, typical insertion loss of < 0.5dB, frequency coverage from 16KHz through 40+GHz., and a voltage rating of 16WVDC. The 550L Series capacitors are RoHS-compliant and presented with gold terminations.

This 550L series is well-suited for precise ultra-broadband applications, including receive-and-transmit, optical sub-assembly (ROSA/TOSA), optoelectronics / high-speed data, synchronous optical networking (SONET), broadband test equipment, transimpedance amplifiers, and broadband microwave/millimeter-wave.
