According to a forecast the global market for Biodegradable polymers will reach 1845 million lbs by year 2015. Bioplastics are the new way to go for flexible packaging companies all over the world. The growth of these polymers has occurred due to the fast depletion of natural resources like fossil fuel leading to the shift towards renewable sources. Also protests against environmental pollution caused by plastics, emission of green house gases, escalating cost of petroleum etc have made the flexible packaging companies to adopt the bioplastics.
