Students Visit Saint-Gobain Seals' Spanish Site

A few months ago, Saint-Gobain Seals’ Rioja, Spain site became a little more lively due to several special visitors -- students from the ESCOLAPIAS school on Vara de Rey Street in Logroño.

The site regularly offers training to various groups, familiarizing them on the manufacturing industry and in particular, the injection molded precision parts that are produced here. This time, the recipients were 50 students, age 9, from 4th grade, who were given a tour of the facility and collected some of the plastic parts.  When they returned to school, the students were inspired to use their “souvenir” plastic parts and build their own robots.

Marisa Aedo San Juan, in charge of Human Resources, said, “Life changes the mind. Adults design and manufacture; children imagine and invent.”

Saint-Gobain Seals’ Rioja site customizes their products for dedicated projects, focusing on the Automotive and Industrial industries. One of these dedicated projects involved the Renault ZOE’s braking system, which was equipped with four of their precision parts (fitting rings, spring seat, collector pipe and magnet support) and custom-built using multi-cavity tools and dedicated injection-molding.
