Slater Steel Successfully Start Up Lemont Rolling Plant

Slater Steel have successfully recommissioned their recently acquired rolling mill facility, Slater Lemont in Illinois, USA.

The plant has been idle since February 2001, and Slater intend to commence trials on various sizes and shapes of specialty products early in 2003.

The successful startup of the Slater Lemont plant will help Slater to reduce costs through improved asset optimisation as well as allowing them to offer a broader product range. These factors will help to make the organisation more competitive in the North American market.
