Join PANalytical at the Building Materials Analysis Workshop in Anaheim, California, USA from 14-17 June, 2015

The 7th biennial Building Materials Analysis (BMA) workshop will be held in just a few months time, from 14 to 17 June, 2015. The workshop, formerly held in Europe, will this year be located in California, USA.

The BMA workshop provides a focus for all professionals in the field of building materials analysis, from engineers to researchers and scientists. Over the three day conference program, PANalytical will host presentations and workshops led by speakers from leading building materials companies and research institutes. Topics of the presentations are analysis of cement, clinker, raw materials and supplementary cementitious materials.

The BMA will be held at the Sheraton Park Hotel, Anaheim, California, USA, next door to the Marriott where the ASTM meeting is taking place. Focussing primarily on X-ray and neutron analysis, this year’s BMA will have a special emphasis on new cements for sustainability and CO2 reduction, cement analysis in production and quantitative analysis for QC of blended cements. Presentations held by guest speakers include: ‘Smarter materials for better cities’, ‘Routine X-ray characterization of cement containing inorganic additions’, ‘XRF analysis of soluble elements in cement and concrete’.

As experts in analytical X-ray methods, PANalytical will be leading presentations on, ‘Neutron and X-ray analysis - additional eyes to the cement making process’, ‘Phase analysis of raw materials, clinker and cement’ and presented by Claisse as PANalytical company; ‘The evolution and interplay of XRF, inter-element corrections, and sample preparation in the history of ASTM C114.

Additional two optional half-day courses will be organized on June 17, 2015. The morning course teaches about  X-ray diffraction and Rietveld analysis on blended cements and will be a hands-on course, so bring your own data. The afternoon session highlights X-ray fluorescence and sample preparation in the cement industry.
