Winbo Smart Tech Offers Eco-Friendly, Customized 3D Printing Filaments for OEMs

Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Winbo Smart Tech, Ltd. has been rolling along lately with one success after another. Earlier this month, the company was a strong presence at the Canton Fair, where they showcased their newest 3D printers, the Super Helper and the Super Helper 3-in-1. At the massive, multiple-week trade show, Winbo took several orders for the printers, which are to begin shipping in the next few weeks. The company is about to finish up a highly successful year, but they’re not calling 2016 a wrap just yet.

While Winbo offers an astonishing 17 different 3D printer models, they’re a lot more than just a 3D printer manufacturer. A few months ago we took a close look at the company and their huge, 20,000-square-meter manufacturing facility, as well as their giant 3D model marketplace and their 3D printing school. With many major 3D printer manufacturers, however, one thing that often gets overlooked is printing material – and Winbo has a lot of that as well.

There’s never been a better time, in fact, than right now to check out Winbo’s material supply. The company is now offering a special OEM program for clients who want to customize their own 3D printing filaments. For a reduced cost, OEMs can not only create custom filament colors, but order them with their own company name and logo on both the spool and packaging. Essentially, Winbo is allowing companies to have their very own filament brands – but without having to do the work of manufacturing it themselves.

At the moment, interested companies can order customized filament for a mere $7.59 per kilogram, with guaranteed delivery within seven days.

Even if you’re not looking to create your own filament brand, there’s still plenty to choose from in terms of Winbo 3D printing materials. The company currently offers PLA, ABS and PETG filament in a wide variety of colors: twelve “standard” colors as well as some fun specialty varieties. Specialty colors include gold and silver, as well as multi-colored and “magic” filament, which changes colors as the temperature changes.

PLA, in particular, is really where Winbo shines. Recently, the company introduced a new fully eco-friendly raw material, without any impurities and meeting food safety requirements. It’s a high quality material, too, with tight diameter tolerance and smooth extrusion – you won’t often suffer the stress of clogged extruder nozzles with any of Winbo’s materials. Winbo PLA has a very low shrinkage factor and stable printing quality with little risk of bubbles or warpage, delivering prints with smooth surfaces and rich color.

Winbo has also patented their own filament spool design, which includes tiny holes that keep the filament fixed on the spool during printing and storage. I don’t know about you, but I’ve had plenty of aggravating moments when trying to feed filament into a printer only to have it continuously slip off the spool, tangle, and get caught and wrapped around the outside of the spool, leading to unnecessary frustration and more than a little bit of cursing. It’s the little things that can make or break your 3D printing experience.

All of Winbo’s materials have been thoroughly tested and SGS certified using a variety of 3D printers, different models in varying degrees of complexity, and different parameters to ensure that they’re consistently performing at a high level of quality. They’re remarkably inexpensive, too, ranging from $5.99 for a 300g roll to $38.99 for a 3,000g roll. 1.75 and 3.00mm diameters are available.

If you’re interested in Winbo’s materials, you can check out their full selection here. Meanwhile, if you’ve ordered the Super Helper or the Super Helper 3-in-1, you don’t have much longer to wait – Winbo is currently preparing to complete production testing and begin shipping.
