Huntsman Introduces Low Pentane Expandable Polystyrene

Huntsman Corporation has announced that it has added a new low pentane expandable polystyrene (EPS) to its portfolio of performance polymers. The new product contains an average of 3.6% pentane by weight so is well within the parameters of EPA’s rigorous emissions standards.

The new Huntsman EPS meets strict customer performance specifications and molds in a wide range of applications including insulation, roofing, geofoam and packaging. When properly molded it meets all ASTM C-578 criteria at applicable densities.

“The successful development of this product is the result of close consultation with our customers and the concerted efforts of everyone in our business group,” said EPS Director, Shea Walker. “We could not be more pleased with the outcome.”
