Samuel Manu-Tech Construct Packaging Plant in America and Upgrade Canadian Plant

Samuel Manu-Tech Inc. is pleased to announce continued investment in its Industrial Packaging Business in North America with the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Heath, Ohio. The Heath facility will allow for the installation of new state-of-the-art steel strapping equipment as well as the upgrade and consolidation of existing production equipment from the Company’s Scarborough, Ontario and Columbus, Ohio facilities. This new 151,000 sq. ft. plant location will have easy access to rail and truck transportation allowing it to provide improved distribution support for its United States customer base.

The $14 million U.S. project will employ approximately 120 people and is expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2007.

Samuel Strapping Systems (SSS) also operates a steel strapping manufacturing facility in Rock Hill, SC. In Canada, SSS manufactures steel strapping and supplies the Canadian marketplace from its manufacturing facility located in Mississauga, Ontario.

“The growth we have experienced in the U.S. has warranted this major investment”, announced Keith Preston, President of the Samuel Strapping Systems Group. “Our enhanced capability in manufacturing, warehousing and logistics will allow for future growth through improved services to our customers,” he added.
