Meeting the Demand in the Solar Markets with PV Ribbon Solution

With the demand increasing for more aesthetic PV modules, Ulbrich’s Engineers take great pleasure in seeing their PV ribbon products being used in solar modules. Clients do not always value the uniformed appearance of shiny metal running through a module, particularly when solar modules are applied as architectural elements.

Therefore, client needs have driven Ulbrich’s engineers to consider how to make their products almost invisible. Ulbrich Solar Technologies, in partnership with Alpha McDermid, is now able to present a new PV ribbon wire product dubbed Black Ready Ribbon (BRRTM). A product that blends near-seamlessly with the dark colors of black modules.

BRRTM is a co-operative project of both companies uniting to develop a first-rate product. Combining Alpha’s Ready Ribbon technology with Ulbrich’s high-quality ribbon that has been in the market for over 28 years, achieved the desired aesthetic. Coating Ulbrich’s ribbon with a delicate and homogeneous layer of Alpha’s BRRTM flux, the product gets rid of the need to apply liquid flux in the module production process. In essence, this enhances the aesthetics of a solar module.

Ulbrich Solar Technologies had the pleasure of hosting its initial product launch through pv magazine spotlight series on July 21, 2020. Throughout the webinar launch, Ulbrich detailed how BRRTM will transform module production for completely black modules while outlining the plug and play solution for module manufacturers.
