Researchers Use Sensors to Quantify Stresses in Composite Structures

Glass fiber reinforced polymers (GFRPs) are advanced composites that are stiff, light, durable, strong materials that can be shaped flexibly and used to build huge load-bearing structures. Whether we are talking about intermediate or final cleaning, the purpose of industrial parts cleaning is to ensure the necessary degree of cleanliness for subsequent processing, or for the long-term, trouble-free functioning of the relevant part or component. Although the required standard of cleanliness (meaning the absence of particulate residues and/or surface films) can vary greatly depending on the particular operation and sector involved, the ultimate aim is to achieve – and in many cases also to document – the desired outcome consistently, quickly, and at the lowest possible cost. Another challenge often faced is to maintain the condition of a work-piece’s surface until it undergoes further processing.

PbS/PbSe Multiple Channel Detectors

Two or four single lead-salt detector elements are assembled within a single TO-39 or TO-8 housing each with its own IR optical filter, supplied from either one of many LASER COMPONENTS’ standard optical filters or a custom designed optical filter. Free issue filters or windows can also be used. The popular detector element of choice measures 1mm x 1mm square. Single channel detectors usually employ 2mm x 2mm square elements.
