BASF Produces Cost-Efficient Binders Based on Styrene Acrylics at its Finnish Hamina Site

BASF now produces its new cost-efficient binders (CEBs) based on styrene-acrylics and styrene butadiene at its site in Hamina, Finland. Since 2012, the successful product line has already been supplied primarily to customers in Central Europe from the site in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Now, customers in the Northern European and Russian market can also benefit from the new products. BASF can thus supply the whole European paper industry.

UC San Diego and CNRS to Establish UCSD-CNRS Joint Research Chemistry Laboratory

Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla and President Alain Fuchs of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the largest governmental research agency in Europe, will meet today to celebrate an agreement to create an international chemical research center on the UC San Diego campus that will aid in the development of new kinds of chemical catalysts for both industry and academe.
