Praxair Expands Oil and Gas Related Capabilities in Offshore Energy with Addition of Dominion

Praxair Offshore Services Limited, a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., announced it has acquired Aberdeen, Scotland-based Dominion Technology Gases Investment Limited (Dominion), a leading global supplier of diving, welding, industrial, laboratory and calibration gases and associated equipment to the offshore oil and gas industry. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

New Resin Holds Promise for 3-D Microelectrodes

BASF and SINOPEC Consider Expansion of Ethylene Oxide Production

BASF and SINOPEC are considering the extension of their Nanjing joint venture BASF-YPC Company Limited with the expansion of existing ethylene oxide (EO) production, and a new plant for neopentylglycol (NPG). BASF-YPC will further expand its acrylic acid value chain with additional acrylic acid and butyl acrylate plants. Production is expected to commence in 2014.

The semiconductor industry’s march toward broader 3D IC integration marked animportant milestone this week at the 2013Electronic Components & Technology Conference (ECTC), with the report of an advanced new temporary bonding solution for 3D Through-Silicone-Via (TSV) semiconductor packaging. The breakthrough was unveiled during ECTC’s 3D Materials and Processingsession, when Ranjith John, materials development & integration engineer at Dow Corning, presented a paper co-authored by Dow Corning, a global leader in silicones, silicon-based technology and innovation, and SÜSS MicroTec, a leading supplier of semiconductor processing equipment.
