All-New Ford GT Supercar to Offer Next-Gen Carbon-Fiber Wheels

Ford’s all-new supercar, the carbon-fiber-bodied Ford GT, will further improve the driving and handling experience by offering next-gen carbon-fiber wheels. This new car is the company’s second Ford Performance vehicle featuring carbon fiber wheels, followed by the introduction of the world’s first mass-produced carbon fiber wheel application as a standard component on the 2015 Shelby® GT350R Mustang.

Royal DSM, a global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials, has launched an innovative new high performance material based on Stanyl® polyamide 46. This new material, Stanyl HGR1, reduces frictional torque in automobile engine timing systems and will provide OEMs with a very cost-effective tool for reducing fuel consumption.

Winter Woes Could be Relieved by Self-Heating Lithium-Ion Battery

A lithium-ion battery capable of self heating even if the temperature is less than 32°F can prove to be comforting as it could relieve winter "range anxiety" for owners of electric vehicles, according to a research team from Penn State and EC Power, State College. This self-heating battery also has a wide range of applications.
