Praxair to Double Production Capacity of Tennessee-Based Air Separation Complex

Praxair, one of the largest industrial gas companies in the world, plans to expand its air separation plant in Memphis, Tennessee.

This capacity expansion will support production and delivery of nitrogen and oxygen gases to Valero Energy and Nucor. Praxair will add a new manufacturing capacity capable of producing 400 tons of liquid per day. The planned extension supports the company to meet the rising customer needs.

Recently, the company constructed a pipeline for serving the Riverport area customers. Praxair is planning for a new facility in the third quarter of 2011. Praxair’s VP of the East Region, Kevin Foti states that air separation complexes of the company provides continuous reliability, quality and operational efficiencies for meeting the present and future customer needs. The global supplier of industrial gases seeks to expand its relationship with Valero Energy, a global manufacturer and distributor of petrochemical products, and Nucor, a manufacturer of steel products. This might contribute to Praxair’s steady growth in the Southeast market.
