Fuwei Films Receives Phthalate-Free Certification from SGS

Fuwei Films (Shandong), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fuwei Films, has received a certification from SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services (SGS). The certification signifies that the company’s products are phthalate-free. SGS is one of the leading verification, testing, inspection and certification companies in the world.

Fuwei Films has selected SGS to perform phthalate testing on its film products to ensure maximum safety levels. In addition, the testing assures customer responsibility and quality control. Phthalates are combined with plastics to enhance their longevity, durability, transparency and flexibility. However, their usage is avoided in several products for health issues.

Recently, China has reinforced safety and hygiene requirements in all stages of food production. Hence, it is necessary to ensure that food packaging materials are safe. BOPET films from Fuwei Films are environmentally friendly, hygienic and recyclable packaging materials.

Mr. Xiaoan, the company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated that Fuwei Films is happy to secure the SGS’ safety certification. He added that it is essential to assure the highest level of safety and quality because the demand for high-quality BOPET plastic films is rising.
