AVX, a supplier of passive electronic components such as resistors, filters, capacitors and timing devices, has extended its SkyCap SR series of capacitors with a new multilayer ceramic capacitor labeled the SR655C106KAR. The latest addition to the SkyCap series has a capacitance of 10 uF with a voltage rating of 50 V.
The capacitor incorporates the X7R dielectric which is characterized by a ±15% variation in capacitance for a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. The formed lead on the SR655C106KAR allows stable placement of the capacitor on printed circuit boards. The new capacitor is RoHS compliant. It is suited for applications in numerous industries such as power supplies, aerospace, telecommunications, medical electronics, automotive and home security systems.
AVX marketing manager, Dan Lane stated that the increased scope of the SR655C106KAR applications is attributed to the capacitor’s robust design integrated with high capacitance.
The new SkyCap SR capacitor has a maximum width of 0.3” , height of 0.4” and thickness spanning 0.15”. The capacitors are packaged in large quantities and are typically available in 1000 piece packs; 2000 piece packages are available in ammo packaging or tape and reel packaging. The lead time for the new capacitor is 11 weeks.
