Materials Testing 2015 to Showcase Bloodhound SSC Vehicle

The world’s most comprehensive show in the field of materials testing, non-destructive testing (NDT), diagnostic technology, and condition monitoring, Materials Testing 2015, will be held from 8th to 10th of September in Telford, United Kingdom.

It will feature renowned industry speakers, in addition to a host of other exciting features. The show stopper of the event will be a full-size Bloodhound SSC Show Car, which is being designed in the UK and is to be subjected to low-speed trials later in the year. Eventually, the vehicle will be transported to South Africa to attempt to break the world’s land-speed record of 763 mph.

Event visitors will gain a meaningful insight into a range of innovative materials testing techniques as well as a number of seminars, spanning the useful aspects of NDT and associated technologies. They will also get an opportunity to learn the various complexities in inspection of the vehicle. A rocket fixed to a Eurofighter Typhoon jet engine will power the vehicle, which can reach speeds as high as 1000 mph. The Bloodhound SSC talks will be held on 9 September 2015.

Materials Testing 2015 brings together next-generation technologies from companies across the globe. It enables NDT practitioners, equipment producers, and users to win new business opportunities, make new contacts, and keep up to date with the latest technologies and developments. More than 70 exhibitors will take part in the event, which is touted to be the best and biggest event so far. Entry is free of charge.

The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) has organized the event, which will run alongside the NDT 2015, a yearly conference that offers more  networking opportunities.

We are thrilled to announce that the Bloodhound SSC Show Car will be present at this year's Materials Testing Show. There will also be talks on the fascinating high-technology project so that visitors can hear what a unique challenge it is.

"More than just a project, it is an engineering adventure that provides inspiration for the next generation by bringing science, technology, engineering and mathematics to life in the most exciting way possible. Materials testing, NDT and associated disciplines will play a crucial role in its success," said John Hansen, Chairman of the organizing committee.

The International Centre is located just 5 minutes away from the UK motorway and rail networks, and less than 1.5 hours from three international airports.
