There are many aspects that impact a pressure transmitter's accuracy, and each one is applicable to different types of instrumentation and applications. The three most important aspects that apply to pressure transmitters are hysteresis, linearity, and repeatability.
Viatran develops pressure transmitters with four different pressure sensing technologies. The company analyzes the requirements of an application and selects the technology that ideally serves that application.
Internal field calibration (cal) signal is a significant feature of several Viatran pressure transmitters. This feature allows rapid field set-up as the transmitter is not removed from service and a precise pressure source is not needed.
A pressure transmitter can be used to establish the liquid level in a river, tank, well, or other body of liquid. The pressure at the bottom of a liquid filled container is directly connected to the height of the liquid.
In Gangster movies of yesteryears, when the police were asking informants about information, they would ask this question: “Is that information on the level?” What they are inquiring is whether the information is accurate.
Nowadays, there are products like containers, valves, radiators, storage tanks, and drums that must be tested for leaks so as to ensure the highest quality. There are also processes such as bonding, welding, or gasketing that require leak testing.
Viatran Models 422/423 have a diameter of 7/8" and a standard length of 3.78 inches. Small size has the benefit of allowing more sensors to be installed per a finite area, thus enabling more measurements to be taken and more room in the test cell area for other devices.
