A team of researchers at the University of California San Diego have developed a thin, flexible, light-absorbing material that has numerous potential applications such as transparent window coatings that keep cars and buildings cool on hot days, devices capable of more than three times the solar cell efficiencies than what is available, and thin, lightweight shields capable of blocking thermal detection.

Integrated System for Automated Magneto-Transport Measurements at Variable Temperatures

Magneto-transport measurements are mostly conducted at variable temperatures and in high magnetic fields; often requiring an arbitrary orientation of the sample in the external field. So far, such measurements have proven to be somewhat cumbersome: expensive vector magnets yielding only limited 3D field strengths, high running costs due to liquid helium, as well as time-consuming software integration of various 3rd party instruments.

Koplas is South Korea's most important trade fair for the country's plastics industry, taking place every two years.
