Solar Atmospheres Announces t¬he Formation of Vacuum Pump Services Corp.

Within the Solar Atmospheres group of companies, we have over one hundred mechanical vacuum roughing pumps and mechanical holding pumps. Of our fleet of furnaces, some are aging, still in operation even at 30-plus years old. Mechanical pump life is on the order of five to ten years, depending on usage. So it became necessary to establish our own vacuum pump service center, which we have named Vacuum Pump Services Corp.

Goodfellow Award Presented at South African Institute of Physics (SAIP) Annual Conference

Mr. Xin-Liang Yan, a doctoral student at the University of the Free State, is this year’s winner of the Goodfellow Award for Best Publication by a PhD Student in the field of condensed matter and materials. Mr. Yan’s paper, “Investigation of interdiffusion and depth resolution in Cu/Ni multilayers by means of AES depth profiling”, was published in Applied Surface Science, volume 364, pages 567-572 of 2016.
