DELO Releases Highly Flexible Acrylates for Sealing and Casting Small-Volume Applications

DELO Industrial Adhesives has released three new, highly flexible acrylates especially for sealing and casting small-volume applications such as relays, microswitches, and pins. The adhesives combine opposing properties: they are highly flexible, and yet at the same time resistant to temperatures.

Ceresana’s New Analysis Report on European Food Packaging Market

Protective gas for ready-made meals, high barrier film for fish, stand-up pouches for coffee powder: food packaging has become a science of its own. "The application of food packaging is determined by complex trends," explains Oliver Kutsch, CEO of the market research institute Ceresana. "There is a continuous development of new and innovative types of packaging and technologies. Legislation and consumer behavior are changing. At the same time, manufacturers are working hard on offering evermore cost-effective packaging solutions." The overall European market for food packaging (excluding beverages) is analyzed in Ceresana's latest market study. Analysts at Ceresana expect this market (including secondary and transport packaging) to reach a volume of more than 38 million tonnes by 2022.

MIT Scientist Skylar Tibbits Participates as Innovation Keynote Speaker at 2015 Global Plastics Summit

SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association and IHS Chemical, the leading global source of critical information and insight, announced today that Skylar Tibbits, a research scientist in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Department of Architecture and director of MIT’s Self-Assembly Lab, will serve as the innovation keynote speaker for the upcoming 2015 Global Plastics Summit (GPS), scheduled for Oct. 28-30, 2015, in Chicago. Tibbits’ presentation is scheduled from 8:05-8:45 a.m., Friday, Oct. 30.
