Minerals Technologies Enters Agreement with Indian Paper Company for Fulfill® E-325 Technology

The papermaker wished to remain unnamed for competitive reasons. This marks Minerals Technologies' third such agreement in India for the new, high-filler technology.

BASF Obtains Licenses on Basic Patents for Magnetocaloric Materials of Manganese Iron Family

BASF New Business GmbH has entered into an agreement with the Dutch Technology Foundation (STW), Delft University of Technology and the University of Amsterdam for licenses on the basic patents for magnetocaloric materials of the manganese iron family. Cooling systems based on these new materials enable more efficient cooling in refrigerators and air conditioning and are intended to replace conventional compressor technology.

Blast Furnace 9 in Duisburg – Hamborn of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe Back in Operation

ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe’s blast furnace 9 in Duisburg-Hamborn has been fired up again and started a new campaign. The facility in the north of Duisburg was taken out of service in spring 2012 for relining and replacement of parts of the cooling system. The flat steel producer has invested around 38 million euros in the upgrade, designed to improve the competitiveness and viability of the site.
