Aleris Opens New Automotive Aluminum Sheet Manufacturing Facility in Belgium

Aleris today announced the opening of a new cold rolling mill at its Duffel, Belgium, facility to meet increasing demand for wide automotive body sheet. The completion of the mill, when combined with the facility's continuous annealing line, creates a dedicated automotive center that further equips the company to produce the widest aluminum sheet currently available in the industry.

Boeing Updates on Lithium-Ion Battery Improvements for 787 Commercial Jetliners

Boeing announced today that a comprehensive set of improvements that will add several layers of additional safety features to the lithium-ion batteries on 787 commercial jetliners are in production and could be ready for initial installation within the next few weeks. New enclosures for 787 batteries also are being built and will be installed in airplanes in the weeks ahead.
