How to Perform a Thread Tensile Test Using ASTM D2256

This video shows how to perform a thread tensile test using the ASTM D2256 from ADMETTestSystems. The ASTM D2256 is a universal testing machine equipped with an ADMET eP2. The thread tensile test is performed to determine the breaking strength and the elongation of a thread. This test measures the tensile properties of a thread by pulling it at a constant speed until it breaks.

This test uses MTESTQuattro system that can automatically calculate all the measurements. The resulting data can be used to calculate the initial modulus, breaking tenacity, breaking toughness and the chord modulus.
