Bruker, a supplier of scientific instruments and systems for molecular and materials research, announces that it has secured $3 million worth purchase order for electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) systems in the UK.
The company will deliver the high-performance pulsed and CW EPR systems to the University of Manchester. The systems will become the foundation of the University’s enhanced EPSRC UK National EPR Service and allow the UK scientists to conduct research on several areas that ranges from inorganic metal complexes to materials science and polymer applications as well as a series of drug metabolic and biochemical pathways.
Inorganic Chemistry Professor at the University of Manchester, David Collison has stated that recently there has been a growth in EPR’s application areas and the facility will enhance EPR uses in several researches. The facility will also help researchers to improve their skills and use of a range of CW and pulsed EPR methodologies. This world-class facility of the University of Manchester will drive EPR research further in the UK.
