Aluminum Association Added Two New Member Companies Aluminicaste and Walbridge

The Aluminum Association announced today the addition of two new member companies, Aluminicaste and Walbridge. Aluminicaste joined as a producer member while Walbridge joined as an associate member. This brings total company membership in the Association to 98, consisting of 50 producer members and 48 associate members.

MFG Offers New Proprietary UL-Approved SMC Material with Non-Flammable Properties

Molded Fiber Glass Industries (MFG), an innovation leader in the field of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) composite materials and processes, announced the availability of a new proprietary sheet molding compound (SMC) material with non-flammable properties. Known as iNVENTA 616UL, the material received UL 723 approval from Underwriters Laboratories earlier this year.

Valspar to Provide Aquaguard™ Waterborne Coating System for Maersk Shipping Containers

The Valspar Corporation and Maersk Container Industry today announced a long-term supply agreement. Valspar, a global leader in the paint and coatings industry, will provide Valspar Aquaguard™ waterborne coating for shipping containers manufactured in Maersk Container Industry’s operations in Dongguan, China. With this agreement, manufacturing of a significant share of dry goods containers will convert from solvent borne coatings to Valspar Aquaguard waterborne coating.

Townsend Ventures Increases its Ownership in Energy Storage Solution Provider, Dow Kokam

The Dow Chemical Company and MBP Investors, LLC (MBP), an affiliate of Townsend Ventures (Townsend), together announce the acquisition of Dow’s ownership interest in Dow Kokam LLC (Dow Kokam) by MBP. The transaction makes MBP the majority owner of Dow Kokam, which includes the Midland Battery Park in Michigan and the Lee’s Summit facility in Missouri.

Hon Hai/Foxconn to Invest $40 Million in Pennsylvania for Advanced Technology Manufacturing Facility

Governor Tom Corbett today announced that Hon Hai/Foxconn, the largest contract electronics manufacturer in the world, plans to invest $40 million in Pennsylvania to establish a high-end technology manufacturing facility, creating 500 jobs and to launch a strategic R&D partnership with Carnegie Mellon University.
