Vattenfall Purchases 20% Share in Buchanan Renewables Fuel

Vattenfall and Swedfund acquire 30 percent of Buchanan Renewables Fuel. Vattenfall's share will be 20 per cent for MEUR 20, and Swedfund's 10 per cent for MEUR 10. Vattenfall already has a sourcing agreement with Buchanan Re-newables and is now becoming a partner to expand the operations and secure a significant biomass supply.

MIT Researchers Develop New Electrode Material to Enhance Lithium Batteries

Batteries might gain a boost in power capacity as a result of a new finding from researchers at MIT. They found that using carbon nanotubes for one of the battery's electrodes produced a significant increase — up to tenfold — in the amount of power it could deliver from a given weight of material, compared to a conventional lithium-ion battery.
