Encocam Celebrating 25th Anniversary

On 19 April 2013, innovation group Encocam Ltd is celebrating its landmark 25th anniversary.

The Huntingdon-based company, which was established in 1988, will recognise two and a half decades of engineering and manufacturing success by holding a weekend of education, networking and fun for its employees and clients.

The event has been put together to recognise those instrumental in the company’s success, and will celebrate the company’s longevity and commitment to innovation throughout its history.

Originally founded to fulfil orders for composite panels, Encocam has diversified into a wide range of industries. With offices in several countries, it continues to grow, increasing its export products and offering a truly stimulating work environment for more than 140 employees.

The business employs nine individuals on apprenticeships, and its dedicated in-house design team has been instrumental in creating award-winning products.

Encocam was founded by managing director Dr Mike Ashmead. He has continued to run the business throughout its 25-year history.

Dr Ashmead says: “To have achieved a quarter-century of successful business is a brilliant accomplishment. We owe our success to innovation, flexibility and a can-do attitude. We also believe that learning and continuous development is incredibly important.

Over the last two and a half decades we have risen to a huge number of challenges and have always aimed to meet our customers’ wants and needs. I am extremely pleased to be able to celebrate 25 years of success this year.”

Encocam’s work takes place over three sites in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Dedicated sales and marketing staff are employed at the newer Stonehill site to Huntingdon meet the needs of all customers, and central services can be found at the original Blackstone Road building.

Its expertise ranges from the manufacture of energy absorption and road safety products to composite and architectural panels: it also imports and distributes motorcycles and scooters throughout the UK under the ZingBikes banner and owns Huntingdon’s Stonehill Engineering plant.
