LUXORᴾᵗ Sputter Coater for High Resolution SEM Imaging

LUXOR coating systems are engineered for coating uniformity, process repeatability, and ease of operation, supporting high-quality imaging and analytical results across a wide range of SEM applications.

The LUXORPt features fully automated platinum sputter coating and high-resolution thin-film deposition for efficient sample preparation. It is optimized for high-resolution applications in floor models and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM).

  • A fully automated coater designed for SEM imaging applications from 50.000x upwards
  • Coats samples with platinum in argon, and gold or gold/palladium in air or argon (other target materials available upon request)
  • Incorporates A2 technology for high-resolution 3D coating
  • Capable of coating up to 7 × 12 mm stubs simultaneously
  • Incorporates LUXOR ‘upside down’ design for enhanced protection for the operator and for your expensive SEM column
  • Additional high vacuum and low vacuum (150 Pa) modes for sample outgassing and for drying sensitive samples

Luxor Platinum Coater

The LUXORPt is intended for SEM imaging applications from 50.000x upwards where sample charging may be an issue. It uses the special A2 technology to apply a uniform layer of platinum, gold, or gold/palladium in argon or air.

After the samples are loaded, select the appropriate coating thickness and press the start button to initiate the fully automated coating process. With only a few minutes of basic instruction, new operators and lab technicians can operate the device, thanks to its user-friendly design, which greatly reduces the risk of human error.

The samples are put in a lid at the top of the LUXORPt coater, with the target at the bottom. Safety and usability are two major benefits of this innovative upside-down design.

All required auxiliary components and accessories are included with the LUXORPt sputter coater. It forms a complete sputter-coating solution when paired with the optional vacuum pump. Sample holders are available for resin-embedded samples, cylindrical stubs, and regular pin stubs.

A LUXORPt coater is easy to install, typically taking no more than 15 minutes. A global network of LUXOR distributors is available for installation and training support whenever help is required. LUXOR’s website offers useful installation videos for reference.
