Bayer and PolyOne Establish Joint Venture

Bayer Polymers LLC and PolyOne Corp have formed a 50:50 joint venture to develop, produce and market polyurethane systems in the USA and Canada. The new company, which will be known as BayOne Urethane Systems LLC. It will be based in Missouri and should be operational by June 2003.

The joint venture will take the form of a systems house and will supply ready-to-use preformulated polyurethane raw material systems (isocyanate and polyol blends) for a range of applications ranging from automotive and construction to, thermal insulation and refrigeration, through to furniture and footwear.

Both companies will contribute sites across the USA to the joint venture covering areas such as research and development, production and sales.
