MakerBot Replicator Showcases 3D Printers at Le BHV Marais

For five weeks this spring, MakerBot® Replicator® 3D Printers and one of MakerBot’s French resellers, le FabShop, will transform the Paris department store Le BHV Marais into a contemporary factory where customers can discover 3D printing on five floors of the store and become creators themselves in a series of 3D printing workshops. Beginning April 3 and running until May 9, Le BHV Marais will turn into “Grande Fabrique” where MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers will be featured on every floor 3D printing everything from housewares to fashion.

Warwick University Receives 3DS CubeX Trio 3D Printer as Donation

3D Systems today announced that it is supporting the 3D printing project "Engaging Young People with Assistive Technologies," a program for students with physical disabilities at Hereward College in Coventry, United Kingdom. Since September 2013, this project has been empowering physically challenged students through 3D printing technology to help them design objects that make everyday life easier. The project is funded by the University of Warwick.

The EPS Industry Alliance (EPS-IA) recently completed a series of tests on extruded polystyrene (XPS) to examine the effects of moisture absorption and R-value in different field applications. Two new technical resources look at the behavior of rigid foam insulation exposed to water, specifically related to the material's drying potential and R-value retention.

After seeing initial success, they launched two crowdfunding campaigns on Indiegogo (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wave-hooks/) and Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/97033867/wave-hooks/ Within 10 days, initial goals of $3,000 for each campaign were dwarfed by the $18,329 worth of funding, 500,000 website hits, 700 backers, and over 1,000 units on pre order.
