Minerals Technologies to Build Satellite Precipitated Calcium Carbonate Plant for UPM Paper Mill in China

Minerals Technologies Inc. announced today that it has signed an agreement with UPM-Kymmene Corporation to build a satellite precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) plant on site at UPM's paper mill in Changshu, China, located in Jiangsu province. The satellite plant will provide PCC for paper filling and will have an initial capacity of 100,000 short tons. The plant is scheduled to begin operation early in 2015.
