Brilliance Auto Group will get its supply of high-power batteries from China BAK Battery, a global manufacturer of battery cells that are lithium-based. By July 2012, China BAK Battery will deliver a sample order of battery units to Brilliance Auto Group under the terms mentioned in the agreement.

As part of the research to improve the sophisticated metal-high-k gate stack for future logic devices, imec has demonstrated successfully higher-k dielectric with replacement metal gate (metal-gate-last) transistors, which realized a gate leakage reduction of 200x-1000x when compared to cutting-edge logic devices with HfO2 high-k gate dielectric.
Dr. Horst Weller, Physical Chemistry Professor at the University of Hamburg, and Dr. Thomas Elsässer, Experimental Physics Professor at Humboldt University and a Director of the Max Born Institute, will receive the Julius Springer Prize for Applied Physics 2012 for their breakthrough results and thorough knowledge of fundamental processes on the sub-nanoscale.

IDM International, a minerals processing firm, has declared that it has planned to commence its first large bulk shipment loading by June 20, 2012. Currently, Coos Bay-based dock and warehouse plant contains 11,000 t of SpheriChrome for loading, which will be then shipped to China. A major marketing firm in the mineral sands industry is buying this SpheriChrome shipment.
