Jacopo Annese Discusses Different Ways to Examine the Brain

This video shows Dr. Jacopo Annese, Executive Director of The Brain Observatory, explaining the different ways to examine the brain. One way is using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computerized tomography. MRI shows a lot of detail of the soft tissue and provides detailed view of the brain. The other way of examining the brain is through post-mortem histology, where tissues can be seen at a microscopic level. Histological techniques are used to look at individual cells and observe the pathologic phenomena that create diseases like Alzheimer's disease. Annese also explains that the branch of neuroscience has entered into the digital domain.
