A new study by scientists at Rice University on the growth of graphene in chemical vapor deposition (CVD) furnace paves way to improve the quality of materials’ growth. The study findings have been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences journal. Co-author, Boris Yakobson informed that electric current traverses through a pure graphene sheet with virtually no resistance, a quality that makes the nanomaterial a material of choice for electronic applications such as touchscreens.

Manufacturer ANH Refractories is launching a revamped range of products for the cement manufacturing sector following a period of intensive testing and research. The American owned company says it now believes it offers the most comprehensive range of high quality refractories for cement kilns in the world.
An efficient and low-cost technique to generate electricity has been developed by researchers at the University of Surrey. According to the researchers, a by-product obtained during the manufacture of biofuels can be used to power microbial fuel cells. The latest study may help design self-powered tools. The work was presented at the Autumn Conference of Society for General Microbiology.
